Fire rated tested ceiling systems up to 240 minutes FRL are available for installations. Self supporting or suspended ceilings is generally non-load bearing and are provided horizontal barriers to prevent vertical spread of fire. Fire rated ceilings are to be approved with relevant criteria BS 476 Part 22.
Wall boards with water resistance, with good thermal resistance are used for Fire rated ceilings.
Based on FRL required, the ceiling system will be decided as per tested conditions. GI framing with proper selection of ceiling board (Promat boards/Magnesium silicate) and infill will give (96 Kgs Rock wool) adequate acoustic, water resistance also, apart from integrity and insulations.
Access panel (Fire rated) can also be provided where access to ceiling is required and essential.
